Missouri Weekly Direct Slaughter Cattle (week end 06-07-2019)

     Trading from late last Friday through Friday morning remains light 
as producers continue to see lower prices and bids with dressed grid 
sales 3.00-4.00 lower at 185.00-186.00.  Trade started Monday in the 
Southern Plains with fed cattle prices mostly 2.00 lower at 113.00 with 
trade in Northern Plains on Thursday at 114.00  Despite some good gains 
this week in the cattle futures last week�s sharp break and plentiful 
supplies with seasonal weakness coming for the summer months still paints 
a bearish attitude.  Traders continue to watch the direction of corn and 
soybean market as corn prices will remain uncertain and continue to be so 
for the rest of the growing season.  Choice boxed-beef on Thursday closed 
.14 cents higher at 222.25 and Select .02 lower at 207.16 compared to 
last Friday�s close with Choice at 223.21 and Select at 207.69.  The hide 
and offal value from a typical slaughter steer on Thursday was estimated 
at 8.24 per cwt live .01 lower when compared to Wednesday�s value.
